Hopsin Recalls Being Outcast For Speaking Proper

In junior high and high school, rapper Hopsin was placed in special education classes due to “really bad ADHD.” The 30-year-old, Panorama City native felt ostracized by both White and Black people growing up, leading him to have mainly Mexican friends. Because he speaks properly he was categorized as a “certain type of Black” by other Black people.
